Help Section for Version 9.5 or higher of Power Submitter Software

This section is designed to help you troubleshoot and fix errors that may occur - during downloading, install, and usage of the software. You should check the "quick start" and "help center" in the software too - as these sections detail EXACT usage, in addition to tips and other FAQs.

- download errors

"Invalid parameter" - Enter the website address for download DIRECTLY into your browser - do not use any download wizard software AND/OR do not click on the link in an email - especially "web based" email [ie yahoo, hotmail, aol]. Username and password to download are CASE sensitive.

"Corrupt" - If after download you get a file CORRUPT/incorrect size etc - redownload - it may take several tries to get a GOOD DOWNLOAD. DO NOT use any type of "download wizard" and disable all virus checking programs.

"Upgrade errors" - in some cases if you are UPGRADING you may have to complete delete the folder where the old files were manually. To do this, click on My computer, go to "c" drive , "program files" and "belton enterprises" - and delete THIS FOLDER - then try install the new version.

Important Notes BEFORE USAGE of the software:

• Please disable / shutdown ANY of the following applications: virus checking software, pop up window killers, and other internet software.
• Delete temp files and history in Internet Explorer - click on tools and Internet options in Internet Explorer to do this.
• IT is recommended you RESTART your computer PRIOR to doing any submissions, because Power Submitter uses a lot of system resources.
• Some "Sites" sections have special instructions/options please read them carefully to ensure troublefree submissions.

Errors are listed in terms of severity to program operations...

- connection errors

Connection errors can cause auto-update not to work, and cause all submissions to fail. First, restart your computer, then Internet connection and re-try... if there is still a problem, open Internet Explorer, click on TOOLS, and Internet options - check "connections" if your connection is not listed, add it and make it the default - then restart your computer.

Special cases: In the case you get a lot of failed submissions click on Program options, and adjust the timeout wait, and set submissions speed settings to allow the software MORE TIME TO connect with sites.

- auto update errors

IF you attempt to submit your ads, and the program has NOT auto-updated, you will get an error. Click on AUTO-UPDATE - it will turn green when update is completed. If not, shutdown your computer and restart , start your internet connection, and then the software - it will update within 30 seconds of start up. Also see "connection errors" above.

- ad form errors

"garbage" in adforms/can not update/will not load adsforms/ - click on Program options, and Delete all adforms - shutdown and re-start the software.

General:

After you click on "Update changes" a special system will check all fields - you will get an error message if there are blank fields, special characters being used in fields that do not allow it, too many characters or not enough. Please adjust ALL FIELDS as required and then click on UPDATE changes again. See the a/v presentation on AD FORMS for more information.

- submit errors

"Critical Error" - this will occur when you go to do mass submissions, and there is a CRITICAL error on an ad form that would prevent postings. Please correct the error[s] asap - the software will not post your ads until this is fixed.

General:

Generally speaking the only errors you will get during submissions is a "failed" or "no category match". For the first one, simply redo submissions to that site - the later is NOT an error - there was no match for the category[ies] at the site you tried to post your ad. ANY OTHER ERRORS are generated by the classifieds sites themselves and not the software - ignore them [exception Citynews]. Sites that generate pop up windows and/or errors will either be removed or moved to a section of the software set up for "troublesome" sites.

- spam email

Because this software submits to many free sites, you will get email confirmations and occasionally an email from the website owners of the classifieds - THIS IS NOT SPAM. They provide a free service - that in many cases costs them money - for you to get results - this "email" is the "cost " of doing business and submissions.

- results

Results are based on ad headline, ad copy, website, presentation, current marketing trends, demand and so forth - only frequency of usage [proper usage] will yield results over time. You can also change / or use MORE CATEGORIES to have your ads appear in more sections of selected classifieds. The software updates constantly as new sites come online and older ones change.

Important: Double check your adform[s] - this is CRITICAL - errors in website address, email; address etc etc will cause results based problems.
